RE: What average MPG are you getting from your SD4?

I think you will find that the aircon does not run off an engine based pump. I think it is electric. Those who know better than me may be able to confirm.
I was told at my old garage that modern air con does not drain systems like they used to.
Cheers

I've reset the poll

Thanks, but I don't think the current entries have been moved... I think Tim polled 37 mpg if I remember right. Maybe we should start a clean poll now that the scale has moved? Sorry mods - can that be done?

If that does not work we will delete the poll and start over again.
Here's hoping.

RE: What average MPG are you getting from your SD4?

Two points, I have posted my "overall" average, I have actually found it quite easy to get 40+mpg on the trip computer. However in my experience trip computers con you, or flatter you by 2-3mpg. Evoque has 3 trip computers - trip A, trip B and then an average trip computation. These are in addition to the normal odo. Also on the ave TC you can get instant consumption - great when it goes to 999.9mpg, disaapoining a microsecond later when it shows 10!

Aircon - I never switch it off auto, all I do is change the temperature setting now and again, so it's running all the time as a dehumidifier rather than a chiller

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

Good to see it heading into the 40's Tim obviously on Motorway driving, hopefully as your engine beds in it'll improve further, I was surprised by the initial 50mpg claims but if we can be firmly in the 40's on long runs that's pretty respectable.
