Evoque wont start!

had a slightly unnerving moment this morning. Jumped in the car, foot on brake, press start button........nothing...just a yellow exclamation mark, and the instruction to depress brake pedal. All very odd. Tried to start it about 4 times, with the same result. Finally on the fifth time it sprang to life....weird

let's hope it doesn't happen again...

nope, just plain old key entry

The all are keyless when you get inside though, so prob same problem with interference between the key and car

hmmm...maybe, although after the first failed attempt, I picked up the key, so i had it in my hand....even tried holding it under the steering column, to no avail....

Its the car trying to tell you it needed that awful black number plate holder on the back

Sounds like the sensor on your brake pedal may not be working properly. If it couldn't find the key you'd get a "Smart Key not found" error.

Probably worth taking it to the dealer as if it fails completely you'll be stranded.
