What is I do not have the surround cameras as I don't think that is standard is it, and I haven't added them as an option.

Would I still need the switch in that case?

Also, does this way show whatever is on your iphone on the screen even when driving, so can be used for the satnav on iphone etc?

Thanks again!

In that case you have to remove the head unit with the display like shown here: http://youtu.be/qXRvlmVMY6s
and connect it to one of the ports (I don't know which number it is)

You could connect the cinch to fakra directly and have to use hidden menu video button. You won't need the fakra switch and separate switch.

But maybe you could try first to search for a fakra cable which goes up to the main unit behind the DVD player because it is a little bit easier to remove?

Whatever is shown on you display will be shown when driving e.g. the satnav can be used.

RE: Running I phone through 8" screen

Brilliant!!

Many thanks for your help with this! I think I fully understand what is required now.... I was getting confused with the switch aspect as I don't have the surround camera's option.

I am going to try and install this using the FAKRA plug behind the DVD unit first as that seems easier to remove but I'm not sure if I will have the 'Camera' options in the menu to select as I dont actually have them?

Is anyone here without the surround camaras able to advise?

If that is no possible then I will look to plug the FAKRA into one of the ports on the back of the screen unit and use the secret menu instead.

Can anyone advise on which port I should use on the back of the screen unit (as shown above 1, 2, 3 or 4) ??

I think I read somewhere that the green port (port 1) is used for video out (such as rear screens etc)?

Many thanks,

Now you got it! I think it will 3 or 4. You should test it and see which one is free.

How have you unlocked the system to be able to have video in motion?

Thanx!

It is not about the Video Menu. It thinks it shows the surround cameras.

Hi again Benziner,

Just wondering if you completed the install!?

I now have all the cabled / converter needed and am going to look at doing this over the next few days. Just wondering where you have the wires coming through into under the armrest? Did I see you have gone through the plastic where the usb/aux cig lighter is? I would rather not cut anything if I can help it. Would there be any other way to get the cables into under the armrest at all??

Cheers!!

Maybe you could leave the front cover? Just reinstall the white socket including usb and cig lighter. I think this is not very expensive to get a new cover. My system is running very well but had no time to film it while using the phone.

I'm not quite sure which cover you are referring to?

How easy is it to get behind where the usb/cig socket is if I want to get the cables through there?

Think that looks the only way I'll be able to get the cables/lightning adapter into the compartment under the arm rest.

Thanks,

I'm talking about the plastic cover where the symbols are printed on (USB, Aux)

You have to remove the cupholder and it is not easy to open the clips from the media socket. Tricky.

Right I see.... I think I'm going to give this a go tomorrow so wish me luck!

Just to check, how is the sound handled as obviously the cables/wires into the FAKRA only deal with the video on the screen??

Many thanks for your help!
