Your third party cover will still be valid.

Thanks ED, didn't realise that.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

There is a bit of the road traffic act that states third party cover will not be invalidated by several factors one of them being engine horsepower.

It wont stop the insurance company taking you to court to get the money they pay out back from you as a result of you breaching their small print.

I'm sure in this day and age they probably would!

The insurance issue is a bit of a white elephant as I just advised them that I had fitted an economy module, and they noted it (as they would for any modification from standard) and it didn't even effect the premium.

Cheers

RE: Fuel economy , finally a big improvement

After a first longer trip my comsuption was in normal roads, driving about 90 km/h, 7l/100 km (40mpg) which I consider for very good.
But when on highway, driving about 140 km/h the comsumption jump up to 10l/1OO km (28,25mpg). and this is pretty high. Car is brand new, with the newest software in.

Ordered: 2.3.2012:
RRE Prestige SD4 AT, Barolo Black, Spirit/Macassar/Ivory/Espresso Oxford Leather Interiour, Black Pano roof, Privacy Glass, AUX Heating, Heated seats and Wheel, Tech pack.
Delivered: 19.9.2012

Jojosr, those figures seem high - that's what I am getting on an Si4... Surely the SD4 must be lower than that.

RE: Fuel economy , finally a big improvement

I have got the economy module (same as Jonathon555 started this thread about) installed for about a month. the first module they sent did not boot up, turning the car into restricted mode. replacement unit was sent right away so no problem, company reacted quick.
results:
- significantly more torque at low revs
- fuel consumption down from 8,5 L to 7,5 - 8 L, I have even managed 5,9 l after 50 km journey
so far happy with it, looking forward to higher temperatures outside to see summer figures

I have the same Box. No difference after different variations on settings. Great for improved acceleration if that's what you want but fuel economy when set at the economy mode is no different to What I was getting before putting the device on. Was told by the company to try it for another month and if still no improvement then they will accept return. I have emailed them several times now for an RMA Number/Returns and they will not reply to my emails. Don't wast your money.

Hopefully, owners who have an accident will have the sense to dismantle the device before anyone inspects the vehicle unless they are incapacitated or the engine is mangled and you can't get at the device..
