Ref: rubber mats. A well known supermarket (the orange one) sell a full set of rubber mats for £11.99. The rear set fit the same as the RR ones & a bit of cutting about with the front set makes a perfect fit . One tip is to leave the mats outside for a few days to get rid of the rubber smell, unless rubber is your thing

Visited one of the German based supermarkets yesterday (not the one beginning with A), and bought 5 litres of their anti freeze £5.99.

This stuff gets highly recommended on other car forums I've been on in the past. Its called Ultimate Speed screenwash with anti freeze.

Yes it begins with L, just being cautious, after the blatant advertising issues in recent days.

Your car is designed with work in snow with the OEM tyres so you have given the TR a better chance with the winter tyres.

One suggestion is to replace the carpet mats with high surround rubber mats and it's still useful to carry some old mats in the boot to give "aid" to all those BMW 3series people who 99.999999% of the time snear at you thinking they are of a superior race and help them get moving, much nicer than pushing them!

I also add a can of spray de-icer. One thing I found last time we had very low temperatures was that the door seals froze to the car........... not sure how to stop it but something like a quick coating of silicon grease or surfboard wax might help avoid it

I use silicon on my door seals, and they work fine. Considering we have -20 to -25c degrees during the winter, still no problems getting the door up, just make sure you reapply silicon after you have washed the car.
