TPMS

So, I have this on my vehicle (can see the correct valves on the tyres) - but is there anything to see anywhere on the driver display or main screen regarding its operation, or does it only make an appearance when a tyre needs attention?

Ordered; 5 Door SD4 Dynamic LUX Auto, Firenze, Verve, Shadow/7, HBA, Ebony Headline, Privacy Glass, TPMS, Adaptive Xenon's - at the dealer, collecting 1st of March!

It only makes an appearance when a tyre is loosing air

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

RE: TPMS

That's why I deleted it from my car. It's an expensive option compared to other makes which, for similar money, display the pressure in each tyre in near realtime and which therefore give you early warning of a puncture instead of having to wait for the TPMS to alert you. Audi provide the Evoque level of functionality for something like £80 using a persistent increase in rotation speed to indicate a reduction in rolling radius and therefore a flat tyre.

The sensors used in the Evoque transmit more detailed information and it surprises me that it's not made available to the user.

Mark

Evoque was great, now in an RRS SVR

RE: TPMS

I added it as I had it on my sport, and it was a 200 quid cheaper option on the evqoue. On the sport there was a seperate button on the dash with a light that allowed you to change between light/heavy load that had an LED so at least you knew it was on.

Would be nice to see the pressures on the display for sure, the couple of times I had the alarm come up in the sport the tyre had to lose a fair bit first...

I have been told by dealer that TPMS will be compulsory fiiting to all new vehicles built in 2012.
Contacted LR to confirm this, as I have ordered SD4 for Sept, and wondered if there was any need to specify
TPMS!

Forgot to add that LR didn't know about TPMS being compulsory in 2012, and to contact dealer
for more info.

EU Parliament mandated that from November 2012, all new cars registered after Jan 2012 will have to be
fitted with TPMS-also part of MOT TPMS required to be in working order.
If you google TPMS, you'll find some info on this.

No, 'item' is correct.

Its new "type approvals" from Nov 2012 (ie new car models), and new vehicle registrations from November 2014.
Jan 2012 doesn't feature in the requirements.

Ordered: Fuji Dynamic Lux Coupe / style 7 wheels / Privacy glass / adaptive xenons / something else which I've forgotton.
Should be end of April (was March, then April, then end of May/June).
Collected, Friday 13th Shocked April 2012
