RE: Real MPG with 2014 model
Hi Guys,
Just an update, i took mt car in today and they have done something with the software (no idea what) but the car feels soooooooo much better. I'm guessing & i really no nothing about these things but i'm guessing they have them all set up for best fuel economy as a default setting?? I will see how this now effects the mpg...but the performance difference is amazing.
Thanks for the advice etc x

Glad that the dealer sorted it out to your satisfaction.
A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

RE: Real MPG with 2014 model
The fuel consumption of mine is one of the things that I have been pleased with on my 2014MY 9 speed. Even on my 17 mile trip to the local town it will get 46mpg without ever getting into 9th gear as the road is a 60 limited one, that is in spring summer and autumn. While I was home it increased slightly and the mpg dropped to around 42 on the frosty but not really cold days and I was running a heated seat for the first -3 miles and the heated steering wheel and the heated front screen.......... all are heavy consumers so I expect a penalty. On the long hauls to Lonodn and back - 400+ miles then I'm happy to be getting 45ish at 70 on the cruise, depending on how strong the head wind is going south! The legs from Stirling /Lancaster and back are also even on the motorway steep hilly for the first 150 miles of the trip, the runs each way on the M40 though make up for the losses due to the hilly bits even if I do seem to have to drive like a bat out of hell due to folks living south of Birmingham seemly having selective dislexia for reading national speed limit signs and 85-90 being their interpretation of 70................

MY2015 SD4 9 speed auto Pure tech
Mainly rural A and B roads, typically 20 mile journeys to work
First 4,500 miles - average 36.8 mpg calculated from mileage divided by actual fuel used. (Trip computer seems to give +10% better)
I think that is not too bad.
Update after 10,000 miles - long term average from brand new - 37.8 mpg
update after 30,000 miles - long term average from brand new = 38.2 mpg
