Not an Evoque or a Defender....................

After seeing an RRS2 Dynamic show up everyone on a greenlaning run at the weekend I have cancelled all previous orders for Defenders and have a Corris Grey RRS2 HSE Dynamic on order as of yesterday. As the car was a dealer order for their Director's company car fleet and goes into build next week I haven't been able to change the spec at all, which is no bad thing really and saves me going over the top with toys! So the spec ordered by the dealership (forum sponsor Grange Garage are supplying it) is Corris Grey with body coloured roof, fixed pano roof (the opening one is a no cost option but it's too late to change the order), Privacy Glass and 22" Style 504 alloys (these are the big brother to the Evoque 20" Style 6 alloys) that's it for factory fitted options. The interior will be Ebony with an Ebony headliner. I have added the following dealer fit accessories - front and rear mudflaps and the front and rear stainless steel skid plates/ underside protection. I will also be looking for suitable smaller wheels for winter/ all terrain tyres too. Delivery is planned for 28th March at the moment.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

Wow, good work Tim Smile
I'm still wondering about going with the conv. evoque for next year, and we're currently looking for a defender for the dog/tip runs.
Can't stretch to an RRS2 though.

Ordered: Fuji Dynamic Lux Coupe / style 7 wheels / Privacy glass / adaptive xenons / something else which I've forgotton.
Should be end of April (was March, then April, then end of May/June).
Collected, Friday 13th Shocked April 2012

RE: Not an Evoque or a Defender....................

RS, be careful with old Defenders, they can be extremely overvalued by their owners in the classifieds. I was going to go for a 110 as my only car and sell both the Evqoue and the 90............ Parting with the 90 is proving very hard to do, you do get very attached to them! BUT neither a 110 nor a 90 with the latest engine is really suitable for the drives that I do these days, they are still noisey and uncomfortable, so the bullet was bitten and an RRS2 it will be. Once it has a few miles on the RRS I will rip my heart out and sell the 90 (it will be 22 years old or more by that time, if I can bear it!). Now if you offered me £10000 for my 19 yearold/ 85000 mile TDi300 90 which has had one careful owner for the least 13 years, fully serviced at nonfranchised specialists and has a galvanised chassis, then you will be getting a bargain Wink

Nice one Tim, The RRS2 Dynamic is the only model in the range I like but far too expensive for us, even 12 months old and more miles on than we do in 3 years they are still very expensive. So we are still looking to exchange for a F Type V6S soft top when one comes up with the right spec - we will worry about getting the weeks shopping in the boot later!!.

Evoque Dynamic SD4 Lux Auto Total Rubbish, worst car I have owned - GONE AT LAST!

Tim, I think you have made a really good choice, can I take some of the blame, having got you tempted when we drove/broke one at Eastnor last year.

Will we have to pop across to the RRSport forum to see how you are getting on?

Evoque No3: MY15 Dynamic Lux SD4, Auto, Santorini Black, Pimento Dynamic Plus Sports Seats, Ebony headlining, Pan Roof, Shadow Chrome Alloys.

So you broke it before I could have a go in it....tut tut!
I think for the mileage you do Tim the RRS will fit the bill brilliantly.

RE: Not an Evoque or a Defender....................

Evo - yes I loved driving that car, amazing that the staff thought it was normal for both the cooling fans to be running all the time............

Sorcerer - OK so my current Evoque has spent more than it's fair share of time in service bays, but in the last 12 months it has only done 8000 miles, well down on my normal 11000 pa. Expect reduced profits from Premier Inns and Shell/BP this year and higher returns on your BA/ IAG shares as a result! My Defender has also done less miles than normal - down to 900 from 1300pa

I can relate to the comfort on a Defender as we took one out on a Landrover Experience Day 3 weeks ago & boy did you know you had driven it after the 3 hours.
