RE: MPG... What's the problem?

£72 is the highest so far at £1.39.9, but that figure only relates to size of tank and level at fill, not fuel efficiency. Official figures were 49.5mpg I expected around 38-40mpg given it's shape, 4wd etc, I just got 31.9mpg on last fill...

And official figures did affect my purchase decision... Although I don't regret buy it for one minute.

RE: MPG... What's the problem?

I am not familiar with MPG as we use litres/100km here in Canada to measure furl consumption, but I can say I am actually impressed with my evoque's consumption thus far. I am not basing my opinion off of actuals vs manufacturer stated milage, as we all know you never achieve that. Rather I am comparing it to my last car - a rear wheel drive 6 cylinder Ford Fusion sedan. The milage is about the same, yet the evowue feels more powerful and has all wheel drive. Using the turbo charged 4 cylinder engine seems to give it power similar to a V6 in my experience. After owning jags and a Discovery II, I can tell you, I am more than satisfied with my Evoque's mileage at about 15L/100km.

RE: MPG... What's the problem?

The issue over mpg for me is that I have owned Land/Range Rovers since 1996. Every one of them up to the Evoque has either been within 1-2% of the Offical Combine Cycle consumption figure or has been better. I have owned 4.0ltr V8 petrol engined Discoveries, TD5 engined Discoveries, TDi300 engined Defender, TDv6 and 3.6ltr TDv8 as well as 2.0ltr TD4 and all have achieved the Official combined figure easily with careful driving on road. The Evoque though struggles to get even 80% of the claimed figure and for me this is the most disappointing feature of the car that was hyped up to be the most economical Land Rover ever made. To shame Evoque even more, 3 weeks ago I spent a day driving the new TDV6 powered FFRR and it was able to achieve in a mixture of on and off road driving a similar figure to my Evoque.......... This is a much bigger and heavier and bluffer car running for 2 hours in low ratio gearbox which normally decimates any fuel economy. It also included some motorway type driving at very high speed and the car still turned in 33mpg in my hands.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

MPG... What's the problem?

My TD4 is getting 8.5L/100km (27-28mpg) with 7700 on the clock... Hoping this may improve but I won't hold my breath.

No idea if this is good or not on my ed4.

You are doing really well. My SD4 auto has done 1300 miles and is achieving based on the last three fill ups around 360 miles per tank! That's around 6mpl or around 27 -28 mpg I think. But then my typical journey at the moment is urban driving and often short (less then 30 mins). Once back at work hope this improves!
