RE: Impending fuel strikes

Methinks that fuel stations are starting to profiteer. The Shell filling station I use in town was charging £1.439 yesterday and today I have just filled up and it's up to £1.469........................... there was a short queue and the garage had run out of V-Power Petrol but had plenty of stock of "regular" diesel and petrol.

RE: Impending fuel strikes

Seeing as i just sold my car though i had best put some fuel in for the buyer to get home in it.

Local morrisons mahoosive queue!

Local tesco pay at pump site - closed and coned off. However being eagle eyed i noticed that all of the pumps were covered apart from the super unleaded and that the lcd displays seemed to be on. Place deserted.

Quick dodge through the no entry signs where the pump exit is, onto the forcourt, £20 petrol in the car, no queues, no hassle!

I did get some bemused looks from people passing though.

td4 Pure manual in orkney grey, auto wipers/lights, front fogs, spare wheel. carmats4u mats, travall dog guard. Collected 30/03/12.

I hope there won't be any strikes for another month, the time for my car to make it through the build process and get to the ship =]

RE: Impending fuel strikes

Cedric, there isn't actually a strike, only mass hysteria and panic to buy fuel at hiked prices because the government needs some more tax take. Of more interest to many people is that one of the busiest airports for holiday makers jetting off to Spain will be closed because of a baggage handlers' strike

RE: Impending fuel strikes

Just heard on the radio that people who were intending to spend their Easter holiday in the UK are now cancelling their bookings because they cannot be guaranteed the fuel to get to their destination and back. Francis Maud has done more damage to our economy with one comment about a possible strike than Gordon Brown managed in 3 years as PM
