surely it has all the relevant duties and taxes paid?
Or are you assuming the containers weren't approved for fuel storage? (or similar)

I ask, because hypothetically I was pondering whether it would be feasible to use a tanker or similar to fill up abroad...
20p per litre cheaper, 1000 litre tanker/container, a saving of £200.
(yes I am aware there will be other overheads etc)

We burn through a good £600-700 worth of fuel a month (in normal commuting), so really feel these continuous rises.
Our local put its fuel up again last night, thats 5ppl rise in 4 weeks Sad

It's illegal to transport petrol in any container larger than 25 litres. Importing your own fuel might just cause you slight problems with the Customs & Excise!

RE: Impending fuel strikes

IIRC you can make up to 2000litre a year of biodiesel from vegetable oil without paying duty. Unfortunately LR engines are not designed to run on more than an 8% biodiesel dilution in ordinary diesel.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

Also in parts of Scotland it is more than that already and at the village filling station in Keilder according to the Radio 2 days ago!

But with increases that have been appearing for apparently No Reason, if they carry on the same pattern it will be £1.60, but I have a feeling it will dip a bit, although in reality the average diesel price wil be at least £1.50 come the end of the year, this time of year is always expensive anyway!

My local garage is charging £142.9
But I have seen it for £146.9 around the country

Could well be time for me to go weld some armour plating on to the car and get the crossbow polished

RE: Impending fuel strikes

Motorway services are worst "Pirates", not uncommon to see anything from £1.48 up for Diesel (Although there is a Shell on the A1 just south of Scotch Corner that always cheap, i.e. normal prices) .... I think most people would use these for a "Splash n Dash" situation where you but 5 or 10 litres to get you to a local filling station/home.
