Wouldn't short stories be a nice way to make a living! Or even being a prestige vehicle salesperson with an appreciation for the "occasion" of a new car purchase!
I look at people's insides all day which after 20 years is still super interesting!

You most certainly werent rambling. Reminiscing maybe...but that's allowed. Keep up the good work. Yt

Arrived. Prestige SD4 Auto 5DR OG September 11

RE: How was your dealer experience?

It is a pity that Range Rover/Land Rover don't offer the facility of collecting their car from a special hand-over facility at the factory like Mercedes and some other high end marques do. Yes it can be a pain for them to have to build and manage a dedicated centre within the factory. Think about the amount of CO2 and fuel that they would save by not sending your car 200miles on the back of a transporter (with associated risk of damage) to a centre holding area, then driving it around there to a parking bay, then loading it again onto a transporter to travel to the other end of the country from Gaydon - I for one would love to be able to collect a car from a delivery centre at the factory, even if I had to pay a little extra, think of the other marketing opportunities the factory could have - LRE centres (like at Solihull), LR Gear shops (everybody is tempted to buy something when they see what is available, even if it is only a smart keyring or a branded T shirt) . The factory based Home of the Legend at Solihull is very popular - imaging attending that and then collecting your shiny new car off the end of the line from a lovely dedicated covered delivery centre with a shop and restaurant! When LR does do this sort of stuff they do it extremely well so why not a factory delivery facility.

By the way - I have used three dealerships in 16 years of buying Land Rovers, one was a combined Volvo/Land Rover/Bentley dealership that was taken over and then closed down, but the other two (Morrison's Land Rover in Stirling - a family run single Land/Range Rover outlet dealer - and Lookers Park Royal) have offered nothing other than highly professional buying and handover experiences

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.
