RE: How to convince my wife to buy Evoque?

I drove an Audi (Q5) the VW tiguan; BMW X5; The Cadillac SRX (I think) and all were uninspiring. I also noticed they were ugly. The Macan looks like the VW with a slightly stylish ass or overall a squat Panamera. I think very uninspired.

I like the looks of the Evoque and with the Mag suspension, auto with paddles and the 4 cylinder petrol engine it's a little sports sedan. If you are going to obsess about lineage, you can't buy anything; if you're going to obsess about having the latest tech, get an electric car.

So far as reliability goes: as I mentioned before, this is our 8th Land Rover product and we have had nothing but good luck with them.

RE: How to convince my wife to buy Evoque?

My Evoque is my 9th Land Rover since 1996. None has been a bad car, only one broke down on the roadside (on it's way to the dealership to be handed back for a new car!). I've had Rovers and MG's most of my driving life, along with an Audi 80 Tdi Avant (rocksolid, boring as hell and with concrete blocks for wheels as the suspension was so firm), a Volvo 480ES which is the car that broke down more than any other, several Ford Fiestas and a TVR (with the venerable Buick/ Rover 4.0ltr VCool. My Evoque is currently the only LR car I have had that has suffered more than one call out to my house from Land Rover Assist, both times for a dead battery. My brother has an Audi A5 cabrio that has roof mechanism problems, my Dentist has a Q5 which looks beautiful, but he claims is unreliable, and has suspension as hard as bricks and he cannot wait to get rid of it - it's his 7th Audi and he won't be going back. He and his wife have decided that they want an Evoque next....................... horses for course I suppose - any car maker can have "friday" cars, they aren't the preserve of Land Rover.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

forget Audi or the sexy Evoque [which under the hood is actually Ford Focus and the rest is left over scrap from Volvo, Jag and other Outdated Brit technology]... wait a moment and get the all new "Porsche Macan"... its based on Audi Q5, albeit more refined workmanship and performance quality.. Anxiously awaiting to get one for my wife..

"RX" is another dependable option.. just a though.

Best !!

Apart from skoda dont actually make any larger size SUV so there not really are they.

If your not a snob theres nothing wrong with a skoda. If i sell my evoque i am considering an octavia VRS estate for my next car.

When I was a kid traveling around East Berlin Skoda's were used to run down people trying to make it to the wall. Yes, color me SNOB. See, here's the deal: we are all going to die. They will allow Evoques into heaven. Claro?

And the VW beetle was designed as a car for the Nazis. Does that mean all VW's are crap?
