When I originally put my deposit down in July 2010 they said I'd definitely be in my new car "within a year". Then early this year I was told it'd be August.

RE: How often do you pester your dealer?
Zermatt Vulgaris - no
Alex - NO not at all, I also own a Defender 90 which is 1996 vintage, runs perfectly and is my offloading toy - bog standard except for a CB radio and a hydraulic winch on the front. I didn't take it on the green lane run last Sunday because it had a poorly prop-shaft UJ and was overdue a timing/cambelt change for which it was booked into the local independent LR specialist on Monday. Just got it back this morning, total job price £178, parts, labour and VAT to replace the cam belt and fix the strange vibe from the propshaft! Labour was £120 for 4 hours work. I'll be retiring in 5 years time and it would be nice to replace the 90 (which will by then be worth even more than it is now - how many 78,000 miles 15 years old very bashed cars do you know that are still worth £6000...............) with something that looks like it will be just as much fun but newer.
A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.
