RE: Folding Mirrors

Think you might be right Tim, think if you ordered the pack with heated steering wheel that came with it.

RE: Folding Mirrors

I've mentioned this in other posts, but what I've observed is when a .2 model of any vehicle is released, it seems to me that they take away some of the features from the original model. What I think happens is after a successful launch, the bean counters get involved and look for ways to cut corners, once the initial hype is generated. Maybe they thing the new buyers won't notice.

RE: Folding Mirrors

Mark I believe the "technical" term for this is Profit Maximisation, often disguised by reducing the spec in the name of keeping the price high and unchanged over several model years. Then when sales fall off they can offer discounts without taking a profits hit. One of the 2016MY "profit maximisation" changes is to downgrade the ICE/HiFi fitted to all Land Rover cars from a high end 380w Meridian system as standard to an unbranded DAB/FM radio with streaming ability from a portable device............ not even a CD, unless you fork out £1000 extra to get what was previously the standard basic fit system. Unfortuantely what LR doesn't seem to realise is that by design once you have th cheapo system factory fitted it is very difficult and expensive to fit an aftermarket audio system due to the way that LR integrates their audio into the car's other systems. Maybe the boffins in Gaydon/Warwick think that all of us can listen to internet radio. That is fine if you live somewhere where you can get wireless internet but even in the UK, outside of the Midlands and South East there is no decent wireless internet!

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.
