Evoque Sold Out until 2013

Think it means they expect the current waits to continue through the year. Judging by the amount of people who want to buy one after having seen mine, I would expect it to long continue.

I think seeing the Evoque on the road is a better advertisement than any bill-board campaign. Here in rural Gloucestershire, they are becoming a relatively common sight and look very fresh compared to the run-of-the-mill 4x4s. Hardly any coupes though and hardly any Si4s. I think LR will have sold many less than expected of each, practicality and economy are the drivers.

I read somewhere they were expecting a 80:20 Coupe:5 Door split. whereas in reality it was 50:50?

I was in Newcastle with 6 work colleagues yesterday and today and the guys from Devon and Cornwall were saying that all they ever see down there are "Silver-Grey" Evoques and one went as far to say that mine, which was much admired in the hotel car park, was the first non "Silver-Grey" Evoque he had seen............ and much preferred Fuji over the silver.

I wonder what the split is, i thought they were expecting coupe/5 door to be 30/70. My dad keeps going on at me for getting the 3 door but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Exactly, what do "dad's" know!

For some reason, I think the coupe appears unusually large compared to the 5 door on the road. It's not of course, maybe something to do with how big I am conditioned to think a 3 door car "should" be.

I think the practicability issues will have killed many a coupe sale. I'm pleased it's here though.

Impracticallity has never been a huge hold back on sales of any of the small Coupes, they appeal to those who don't need to carry big loads, squadrons of offspring or even rear seat passengers - the popularity of the TT, VW Scirocco, Volvo C30 and Porsche Cayman show that there are plenty of people looking for something that isn't really terribly practical.
