RE: Defender Concept.....

Charlie, I've just paid £500, refundable on the same terms as the Evoque deposit was made years ago! I wonder if I can be the first DC100 Sport
driver to depart LPR in 4 years time.....................

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

RE: Defender Concept.....

Charlie, as Tim says, just £500 initially until we get confirmation that it will make production.

We took a handful yesterday, but if interested then give Spencer a tinkle.

RE: Defender Concept.....

While there are debates going on elsewhere about how what a Defender replacement should be like, something Land Rover must avoid at all costs is to make it any wider as is happening to most cars these days. Whenever I go off into the Scottish hills in my 90 we often yet Disco3's and have had the odd RRS come along. These cars are unbelievably competent off road BUT they get stuck on the edge of any wooded area because they are too wide to get through between the trees without ripping side panels off.................. It is one reason why our local forestry company continues to support Land Rover and buys Defenders - all the proper 4x4's suitable for their work are now too wide to go where a Defender can go. This would be a breeze for a D3 on AT tyres or an RRS

This should not be attempted in your Evoque.................

RE: Defender Concept.....

very good point... the thing i miss most about my 90 is the width.... I was in the lakes picking up the RRS and Lakeland roads are a bit of a nightmare in RRS/D4 as they were widened to suit the american mid SUV market.

my fear is DC100 will go the same route as it looks like they plan to compete with the FJ from Toyota.

Echo edited out!
