RE: Coupe seat recall
From previous posts, it is pitifully slow at present, even if the memory seat button is used. Those with the coupe have obviously been disappointed, as no doubt are passengers awaiting entry in heavy rain.
If JLR are rectifying this, good on them, as this would be enough to convince many people to get the 5 door. Let's hope that they are taking note of all the little niggles albeit that most are minor.

RE: Coupe seat recall
What surprises me is that this was allowed to slip through the net during the months and years of development and testing. It's a defect which is so obvious to anyone looking at the car that it may in time affect sales and will certainly skew the balance between the 3 and 5 door models.
Seems clear there are less coupes than expected which suits me fine because the more striking appearance of the coupe is then a less common sight but I would certainly welcome a retrofit of a motor which, for example, runs faster when there is no one sitting in the seat.

RE: Coupe seat recall
On our trip to Belgium over New Year both kids were in and out of the back seats really quickly without scuffing anything - but then they are skinny things! So I've not found it to be an impediment or even an issue at all as yet - I was expecting it to be far slower from what I had read.
Might be a different story when the folks visit and they need to sit in the back though so speeding it up would obviously be better. Not nearly an issue to have prevented me from getting the Coupe though.

Uh oh...if the retro-fit is done by my local stratstone service centre it will probably break it completely...would rather just have it slow than take the risk!

RE: Coupe seat recall
I emailed LR CS the other day and have the following email response today
"With regards to the seating on the Coupe, we have not been informed that there has been a recall, but of course if I hear anything different I will let you know. We will roll any process like that through to our Dealer network who would contact any relevant customer."
so, we still do not have any confirmations.

RE: Coupe seat recall
When I emailed the dealer revthis thread in mid Jan, he knew nothing about it. However today at the dealer he said that there is something in the pipeline and that vehicles would be called in - however, he couldn't put a timeframe to the statement

RE: Coupe seat recall
Wonder if they can take cars for this while we are on the factory visit?
A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

RE: Coupe seat recall
As I have only had rear seat passengers on two occasions since tang delivery the speed hasn't been a problem for me. Today I was at the local garden centre and a guy in a Mk2 TT parked next to me and wanted to look inside, his first comment was that he had heard the seat motors were "very slow, but at least the car has usable rear seats which is unusual in a coupe! "
