On the way home I used the sat nav option with the 3 green leafs.
Which inc about 1/3 motorway which I drove just under 70.

The car had done 13k and has been getting better. At the Gaydon meet a few weeks ago I got 40 mpg.

I think there is a malfunction on your trip computer. Are you sure it's not reading 30.4 rather than 50.4 mpg... If not, Then I should think Specsavers is the next call.... Envious as mine reads only 31mpg... And my next call would be at weight watchers to see if there is any correlation between weightloss and increase in mpg....Sad

Got mine : Dynamic Fuji White with Lux Pack and black contrast roof.
Optional extras : Privacy glass, Heated steering wheel and TPMS.

RE: 50.4 MPG

Is that eD4 or TD4? Can't be SD4 or Si4 Shocked Not a chance I could get 50mpg, best was 47mpg heading down M6 at 55mph in traffic directly from a filling station on the junction, but as soon as I was off the motorway it dropped to 42mpg, as soon as I hit town it dropped to 40mpg. Normal 36-38mpg.

It may be down hill to Gaydon, and it's less then 200miles.
But it's up Jill on the m6 and round stoke. Then a big hill over Woodhead.
I was doing 51.3 before Woodhead.

I can't see it lasting, but if it stays over 40 it will do me.

RE: 50.4 MPG

Then you were being chauffeured by a granny.......................... with feather weight feet. OK so I have an SD4 Auto and the best I have ever seen was a fleeting 47 on the M40, after leaving Park Royal and heading out along the A40 to the M40 but as soon as I got to the first incline..................... it disappeared. Also the car had only 20 miles on the odo from new! I think I posted some photos on my delivery trip thread on the 9th Sept 2011

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

I'm getting 38.1 mpg from my SD4

20mpg it would be deposited back with the dealer !

Current tank, I'll be averaging 25.4 if I'm lucky! Ultimately it comes down to the type of usage which on this occasion is because the car has rarely ever reached optimum temperature. The diesel is just not the car to have if you are doing short punts all the time. I certainly tend to think twice these days as to which car to take if it's only a short hop.

RE: 50.4 MPG

Jeez, I think mine is having a bad day when I get less than 33mpg, mainly averaging 35-37 BUT I rarely drive in town for any distance. You definitely would be better off with the Si4 as there's also no DFP to get all gunked up in stop start motoring

Now just shy of 10,000 miles and the overall average sits at around 33-34mpg. Hardly spectacular (no surprises there as we now all know) but when it comes to renew the RFL it'll be well over £100 cheaper then my Clio.
