RE: Seat Size

You should get yourself round to the dealership and try the chairs in the new L405, especially the Autobiograpghy Executive version. The head restraints are more like soft down filled pillows than head restraints! I reckon the Evoques seats are the most comfortable I have had in a car too, although the seats on my 1996 Defender look flat and uninviting but are, for me, also very comfortably.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

RE: Seat Size

The seats in my pure tech are the second most comfortable seats I've ever had in a car, the most comfortable were on my Golf GTI but the Evoque ones are a very close second. The back and lumber are extremely gripping and the side bolsters on the seat section hold me in very comfortably.

I have a friend with a new 991 Porsche 911 - he reckons the Evoque seats are better than the Porches!

RE: Seat Size

I don't know what folks are banging on about I find that my Prestige seats are fine and I'm pretty broad in the beam. Maybe that's why I find them comfortable Laughing

Ambience Interior with Macassa wood.

Now a Jag XFR Kyanite Blue - wow what power.
At home and superb.

RE: Seat Size

Its the inner bolsters that cut inwards towards the rear of the seat that are the problem.

I am 6ft 4 and 13 stone. So taller than most, but with slim build. I've had my Evoque 3 days and this issue is a major concern to me. I'm fine driving 30 miles to work, but a longer 100 mile journey today had my arse cheeks aching like hell. These seats (pure leather) are FAR TOO NARROW. I have never had this problem in 20 years driving many different cars, but my lower pelvis is pressing hard against the bolster which is the problem.

I know a lot of people here have no idea what we're talking about, but the first Evoque owners I spoke to today raised the exact same concern. The woman said it was fine, but the guy ( only 5ft 8 ) had the same problem. It's just insane of LR to make such a good car with such crap seats.

Arrived - Pure SD4 Mauritius Blue, tech pack.

I am 5'-11" and 14.5 St and have no issue at all with the seats. In fact they are the most comfortable I have ever had

RE: Seat Size

Having had a full week driving now, I tried the advise of lowering the seat height and this has helped. I found that sitting lower with the back less upright makes my driving position more laid down (if that makes sense?) which takes pressure off my outer thighs. This does mean my stubby arms can only just reach 3rd gear, but a small price to pay Smile

I think what I'm missing from previous cars is a seat tilt adjustment. I have to say the basic leather seats feel nice and are of good quality, but LR have not user tested them thoroughly enough.

Out of 10 people I've asked, 5 have noticed this problem.

Arrived - Pure SD4 Mauritius Blue, tech pack.

5ft 11" and 11 1/2 stone here. I also think the seats are comfortable in the Prestige. Smile
