RE: Insurance - who are you going with?

Arrrrghhh... So Having tried to find out from Av..a who insure my current car, how it would work to setup a multi-car policy, All I found out is that it will be an extra £260 on top of my £320 existing policy with 8 months left to run and they couldn't quote for my existing car until I knew the exact change-over date... then proceed to cut me off, phoned again and got cut off again halfway through giving the policy number, I decided to phone Admiral Multi-car, they wanted £268 for the whole year on the Evoque Very Happy and £350 for my second car (with no no-claims), So given i can't get a bean of sense from the Indian call centre Av..a use, and Admiral gave me a very clued up and friendly Scottish lady who explained everything clearly... I think I'm better of canceling from Av..a and moving lock stock and barrel to Admiral!

About time these insurance companies realized that an eastern call-centre operator called "Dave" who has no idea what I want "'cause it's not in his script" and would rather find out the date of my home insurance than sort out my car insurance and barely knows how to work a phone ISN'T GETTING THEM ANY BUSINESS.

Right insurance rant over... Mad Very Happy

Defo not with LR as these are exactly the same company as Jaguar and if you want to read just how bad they were read my earlier post. I've never experienced anything so bad! See thread "LandRover insurance problems - Beware"

Arrived. Prestige SD4 Auto 5DR OG September 11

Insurance - who are you going with?

We ditched Admiral four years ago after we found out they not insure options even if factory fitted. We had a Merc Clk with £5k worth of options, none of them were insured, not even the xenon headlights. They would only pay out for the basic specification for a given model. The final straw was when they charged extra for side steps and leather on our Disco 3 but would not cover it. They said the cost was higher as the car was more attractive to a thief

I returned to Churchill who do cover options.

The insurer with the best reputation from customers is NFU. We might try them next.

RE: Insurance - who are you going with?

What is the cheapest insurance anybody has found?
I typed into one of the price comparison websites the postcode of the cottage I use out on the island of Tiree in the inner hebrides. http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=995...pp=map.srf

My car would cost me £89pa to insure, fully comp, no off road use, car not garaged. I suppose that there being a 3 hour ferry trip on the daily ferry, to get back to the mainland makes it a pretty secure place to keep a car.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.
