RE: How secure is the Evoque and........ - WB - 30-10-2014 10:15pm Good luck folks and I hope we don't hear of any thefts post software updates. Tim, did LPR mention anything about this topic when you went in? RE: How secure is the Evoque and........ - XFullFatTim - 30-10-2014 10:22pm Yes same here. I doubt my dealer would know if an atomic bomb went off near by, never mind being briefed about security OR any other software updates. Don't expect to hear from them anytime soon. They knew my vehicle had gearbox issues, never bothered contacting me for the update, lazy @r5e5 waited until it got towed back again. Total waste of space!. RE: How secure is the Evoque and........ - iwf - 30-10-2014 11:47pm It'll be interesting to find out the guy who did the reprogramming on Watchdog, then someone get him to check after the software fixes have gone in. We could then start a campaign, keeping Watchdog in the loop, to get the matter fixed once and for all. When my car finally gets delivered in December I'm going to as for a free wheel lock as they clearly can't keep their cars secure. Oh and for good measure ask for the tracking service, FOC. Still not as bad as the pasting BMW got! RE: How secure is the Evoque and........ - PhilSkill - 30-10-2014 11:58pm I havent watched watchdog for many years, and I was more scared by Anne Robinsons cosmetic surgery... its hideous! What has she done to herself! Since my service is already booked soon, just mailed to confirm if they need both keys, and to confirm if it can be done. Think they might get a bit busy! Just had my renewal for insurance through, same price as last year. According to recent AA & ABI reports the cost of UK car Insurance has fallen 15-20%, so in real terms your insurance has gone up. Yes, Probably should shop around anyway, no loyalty where car insurers are concerned... RE: How secure is the Evoque and........ - XFullFatTim - 31-10-2014 11:11am One point for anybody following up on the call to the LR phone line last night....... I've just appeared at my friendly LR Dealership out at Park Royal with two key fobs for checking, as instructed by the Customer Services team last night............. you need to have the car with you as well! No good just taking the key fobs with you, they have to access the car's systems to check that there are no more keys registered to your car than you ordered - some people purchased additioanl keys so if you have say 4 fobs, then you need to take the car and all the fobs to the dealeship. RE: How secure is the Evoque and........ - PhilSkill - 31-10-2014 12:31pm You made me laugh Tim! So it sounds like no new software then? and they are just checking to see if there are any dodgy keys registered In your car. That's not solving the issue, just finding out how many have been "Hacked".
