They look to sit mich higher up than the bars that go with the roof rails. Tried getting a bike on that middle rack yet?

That's the very reason why I opted to go the rail route. The rail-less rack makes it look too "protruding" upwards.

I think the height is good especially clearing obstacles from the pano roof

Yeah all the bikes have gone on fine, your all right though they do sit quite high. But didn't want to put the roof rails on the car. Plus when the rack is off the car looks good again! lol

Hi,
Are you still happy with these bars? are they ok for skis too? have you taken them off yet? any damage to the paint?
Are they easy to fit?
Thanks for all the info you can give me.

Sorry to revive an old thread.

Can somebody please confirm that the LR Roof Rails are removable? I only need to have them on once or twice a year and would rather not have them on for the other 50 weeks of the year.

Thanks in advance!

I would say that they are looking at it technically, however I doubt it looking at it practically...

The crossbars are removable but the longitudinal side rails they mount on are not meant to be. TBH the side rails are hardly noticable and don't make any additional noise or cause higher fuel consumption. I leave the cross bars off when they aren't in use.
