The "Grand Evoque" will no doubt have already been talked about at LR.

I'm not so sure 4" on the wheelbase would satisfy current RRS owners especially if you can't fit a V6 /V8 under the bonnet..... but maybe that will be the way RR goes.

Those are controled by a wide range of possibile switch pack from 2 to 8 switches.

Ill dig a little more and see if i can find anything else.

Cheers Pete, that would be great. I'm hoping that I will be able to just swap the base and switches........... no doubt it will end up being more complicated though!!!!

I would like the cars to follow the BMW/Merc model for specifications.

Base (Pure), Luxury (Prestige) and sporty (Dynamic), BUT, they all have the same basic spec and the three models are a reflection of the trim differences, so;

All cars, electric windows, mirrors, auto lights/wipers, front fogs (!), decent stereo, heated leather seats, heated windscreen, climate control.

Pure gives you say 1/2 leather, Luxury gives you say upgraded full leather and interior trim, a bit of chrome outside and nicer alloys, and dynamic gives you the body kit, 1/2 leather seats (M Sport/AMG sport type of look).

All other options are then available for all cars, wheels, colours, ICE, Nav, trick suspension etc etc with prices staggered to reflect the base spec of your car.

Also all engines should be available in all trims (as they are for alot of markets already); what is wrong if I want my car to look bling-tastic dynamic but can only afford and ed4 underneath because of my company car policy? This is the way the market is going, buyers want all the toys, but then have to run the car in the real world (can't remember I saw a BMW 5 series without 520d on the boot in the UK).

All these people asking for bigger engines... You know car producers need to meet certain median Co2 emissions across the range, right?
Adding a supercharged engine would also require something at the bottom end of the Co2 spectrum (or creating an even smaller LR). In the Evoque I don't think they can go much lower than the eD4.

It's a good point, but it may be that JLR, owned by Tata can include all those Nanos which produce next to nothing, in the same way VW can offset the Lamborghinis with all those VW Polo Blue Motions.

I'd like to see a hotter Evoque, to compete with the Porsche Cajun which will be appearing in a couple of years time in the same way the Cayenne competes with the RRS and FFRR. The Cayenne is now Porsche's biggest selling car by a mile, espeically in China and Russia and I expect the Cajun will follow.

One thing I can tell you is the 2.2SD4 does not need any more power! It's amazingly free revving for a diesel. In day to day driving I find that it is so quiet that I have to be very careful observing speed limits - doing 60 feels like you are doing 40.................... in 31 years driving I have never had a point on my licence, I'm going to have to be very very careful. Even with a tight new engine the car is plenty lively enough and fairly leaps away if you manually downshift the auto with the paddle. It isn't in Porsche Cayenne Turbo or RRS S/C territory and it won't frighten a VW R32 but it's got enough go to keep all but the boy racers quite amused with its handling and oomph. I have 550mile racked up since Friday night and I am 1/3rd of the way down the second tank of diesel. Mr. GreenMr. Green

D3 owners, Freelander2, RRS and FFRR will know what I mean when I say the Evoque also comes standard with Permagrin in best LR tradition!
