RE: Tyre question again .. - vinda - 16-10-2011 06:06pm Hello. Wondering what sorta prices we are looking at for a set of winter tyres RE: Tyre question again .. - XFullFatTim - 16-10-2011 06:13pm Paid £865 for 4 x 19" Pirellis inc valving with my own TPMS valves/ sensors and balancing. Also they are not charging to take the current 19" tyres off for me. As the tyre place cannot get me the Pirellis they are supplying the more expensive Contis at no extra charge. RE: Tyre question again .. - bell-auto-services - 16-10-2011 06:29pm What size width and model Pirellis did you get Tim ? RE: Tyre question again .. - XFullFatTim - 17-10-2011 10:10am Pete, just had a phone call from the tyre shop to say my Continental Snow and Ice tyres will be in this week - I had 245/45 19" Pirellis on order but they cannot get hold of the Pirellis so are supplying the Contis at the same price. The Contis are a couple of quid each more expensive. RE: Tyre question again .. - bell-auto-services - 17-10-2011 12:16pm Thanks Tim, when you get them can you please take me a picture of the tread, also can you pm me the price please. pete RE: Tyre question again .. - XFullFatTim - 17-10-2011 04:29pm I paid £865 for 4 Peter, going to need them sooner rather than later too - down here at 30m above sea level it hasn't let up raining all day, really heavy rain and there is flooding all over the place in the Forth Valley BUT it has eased off and the clouds are clearing to reveal WINTER WONDERLAND on all the Trossachs hills - SNOW down to about 200m and the car temperature gauge is showing +4C at 4:30pm............ and falling according to my little weather station at the house RE: Tyre question again .. - bell-auto-services - 17-10-2011 04:55pm Tim What is the centre bore and wheel PCD and also if possibile the ofset may be looks like example ET51 so ET followed by 2 numbers. all found on the back of the wheel. Pete RE: Tyre question again .. - XFullFatTim - 17-10-2011 05:41pm Pete, I'm really sorry but I took my wheels to the tyre shop this morning and have only just found this post - I assume that the techy stuff you ask will be the same for the 20" wheels and I have 4 of them on the car and 2 spares in the garage......... RE: Tyre question again .. - bell-auto-services - 17-10-2011 05:52pm Ahh yes the info will be perfect if you can see it on the 20" wheels or even photo it if you are unsure. I drove through 70km of snowstorm, only one lane plowed, on way to Whistler in BC Canada last December. I have the original Conti Cross Contact that were two years old, 25k miles, and was able to overtake at 100kmph in unplowed lane. Not a twitch (with Snow selected on terrain response) Would have taken several more hours to get there if I followed those who chose to drive at 50kph. Tyres were fine. Just looking for replacements now (looking for something with better tread wear, and quieter. I don't put a lot of miles on car, only at 27K miles right now, but they are worn.) |
