Heated windscreen is good, but I refuse to pay the best part of £2k for the tech pack to get it. The cold climate pack is a available on the Fl2 for a few hundred quid.

I have a heated windscreen on my 04 reg double decker at work, although not specified on the new ones, it's a bit of a bugger trying to scrape a windscreen that size.

We all know to clear are windows & lights before driving off, but the police "can" pull you over & fine you for driving with snow on the roof.

I am guessing that it's standard on the Dynaminc as we didnt spec one up but it is in the car.

I heard ford has a patent but I have seen a mini with a heated screen, how does that work?

BMW will have either developed their own system or they pay Ford a licence fee, many car makers fit heated front screens now, not just Ford. It may not have been a Ford developement but the glass makers but Ford paid for a period that nobody else would get to have the use of the technology. Heated windscreens have been used in a lot of other industries now for a long time - you can even buy heated house windows these days.

I believe that the ford exclusivity ran out last year (2012)
