I would lose 4wd in a heartbeat but want an auto as I drive 30k a year, and unfortunately auto only available on 4wd.

Cheers

ED4 is reckoned to be as good off-road as the 4WD cars by 99% of the motoring press who have had the opportunity to take one into the mud. You won't loose the reason most people buy the Evoque for - the looks, and who but your best friends will know it isn't 4WD. You save at the pumps, on insurance and road tax too and will be able to afford some of the extra toys you wanted. If you are worried about future value then add metallic paint instead of Fuji.

I love the white... I think I finally have a spec... £34,500 so just inside my budget... Here it goes...

RR Evoque eD4 Pure White
Style 6 Alloys (£900)
Black headlining (£250)
Black Contrast Roof & Spoiler (£500)
Tech Pack (£1900)
Xenon Lights (£710)
Fog Lights (£205)
Folding mirrors with puddle lamps (£340)

Total: £34,500

Sorted!! Think I'm happy with that... And your correct... It's all about the looks and I think this setup will be the best I can get for my budget

Okay.... So i have now changed my mind haha

Here we go...

RR Evoque eD4 Pure White
Style 6 Alloys (£900)
Black headlining (£250)
Tech Pack (£1900)
Xenon Lights (£710)
Fog Lights (£250)

Total: £33,660...

I don't know if I would regret not having 4x4 tho...
Also... I see you have a pure doug... But you list black grille, vents and badges in your sig... Did you order those with the car and have them fitted? Or did you retrofit yourself after getting the car. Cheers

My budget was tighter than yours but I though the folding mirrors were a must especially in tight car parking spaces. My thought was it would cost more to replace if they got damaged...and Iam not that great on the parking.

Given that budget is a consideration do check the price of the 20" tires before you order - as you don't have the spare wheel on the list then get a puncture and use the tin of goo instead = an unrepairable tyre Sad. Makes the £120 for the spare wheel look like a bargain

Welcome aboard and welcome to the world of Evoque order indecision.

Tyres that have been punctured and filled with goo are not unrepairable, its just that most repaires cant be bothered to clean out the goo. There ia a reputable tyre company in my area that will take the time to clean out the goo and do a normal repair so I assume that there are more around the country that will do the same

RE: Hello Everyone :) - mark_n - 16-08-2012 08:52am

I wonder how much they charge to clean out the goo - it's hardly a 5 minute job.

Besides, the goo doesn't always work whereas the spare wheel gets you home and maximises the chance of a tyre repair. I've had a puncture in my Evoque, changed the wheel in a few minutes and the tyre was repaired for just £20.

I'd far rather pay £120 for the spare wheel than risk paying £250+ for a new tyre. However, there will always be some prepared to take a risk that if they do get a puncture, the goo will fix it and the tyre will be repairable.

Straydox makes a good point about costs. The cost of the 20" wheels goes far beyond the cost of the wheel rims themselves - for some reason, 20" tyres are more expensive, more so than the tyres for my 911 turbo and my Ferrari.
