Anyone got this on their car?

My dealer said I would be the first one to order it with them, and I would just like to get some opinions of how well it works.

Currently got a remote garage door, and by the time the RRE arrives, will also have a remote gate to operate, so will save a lot of time in not having to get out and open the gates etc.

No issues, it works just fine with my building's garage door.
It works fine with modern systems, but I've got it on my Merc. and it doesn't work with my 30-odd year old garage door, unfortunately.
I have an electric roller garage door too (one of those great gadgets once had that you struggle to do without). Homelink is a Johnson Controls product and there are many different types of garage door controllers - some are even reputed to thwart mobile speed camera speed detectors too.

Unfortunately there is no guarantee that the Homelink option will be compatible with whatever door you might have installed.
The "homelink" option seems a bit expensive to me, especially when my electrified door came with two remote controls! One of these is fixed with sticky pads to an accessible but not very visible part of the dash of my wifes car, the second has just been removed from a similar position in my Freelander and will be put into the new Evoque next week, - simple - and - FREE!!

+1 I have done the same thing , least thats garanteed to work and does'nt cost a lot.
Got it. Love it. Works great with my 20-year-old garage door.
Not sure if anyone else has found this out, but my garage door remote has lost distant in sending the signal with the Evoque. I have to drive right up tithe door before the door will open, whereas previously with the Subaru the remote would work from about 50 meters away. The remote is the normal small key ring fob type. Just a small observation Cool
Barney, if you have a heated front screen, try opening the drivers window and sticking your arm out and clicking the opener. Not elegant but should restore the range! I have no problems with my remote from 30m away from the door (it's a Horstmann remote control system), but since buying the Evoque it has been inside my garage once........................ just to see how difficult it is to get through the door uprights with 5mm clearance each side, it's too risky backing in, too risky driving in and backing out (even with those yellow lines on the screen) so the car sits on the drive and the garage remains full of wheels, tyres and gardening tools
No heated screen, also the iPhone GPS does not work very well. No biggy, just means I drive closer to the door. Beats the alternative of having to get out Smile
