Winter wiper

Is it normal that when selecting the winter wiper parking option to "on" the wipers are always in their special winter position while they are not moving? While driving they obstruct my forward vision... I believe they should only go into this position when stopping the engine..

RE: Winter wiper

It is normal, but it is a little odd it's called Winter Park, assuming this is where they'll go when you park, to save any de-icing issues.

See my video in Mark_n's "Snowed-in" thread, the wipers are in winter park.

RE: Winter wiper

With kimv on this. My winter park position seems much higher up when set. Will have to have a closer inspection as i did wonder when I saw your vid.

Thanks. It's hard to compare but I'm under the impression that mine come up higher than yours on the video. I had to turn it off because it really annoyed me.

RE: Winter wiper

Careful as that's a wide angle lens and may distort the view if you think its up behind the mirror the angle at the bottom is very steep.

I wont use winter park as soon as the snow/frost goes as it does get in the way a little when driving.

Winter wiper

My impression confirmed by ChuckieB Smile I'll have it checked next time when I'm at the dealer.

RE: Winter wiper

I think this is a confusion of terms. It's not where the blades go when the car is parked, it's where they go when the wiper blades are 'parked', i.e. not moving.

Although I agree that with a simple bit of additional logic, it is a simple thing to detect when the ignition is switched off and raise the blades to their winter park position.

RE: Winter wiper

With winter park enabled my wipers will be in this raised position at all times, ignition on or off.
