Wheel spacers

Hello all.
I have been recently looking at using wheel spacers, without having any lifting of the Evoque.
I have a few queries and am intrigued at how much different they look.
Does having wheel spacers,
1) increase the stability of the car while cornering?
2) have a noticeable larger turning circle compared to the normal.
3) have any effect on the axle weight of the car?
4) cause any interference in the wheel turning in the arch. I have mud flaps as well.
5) have any effect on the drivability off-road?
6) be termed as a modification, and needs telling the insurance company?
7) does it have a more profound effect of metal wear of the discs it is mounted next to.
have an increased fuel consumption especially driving on the motorways?

I may not be using the right terminology for the above questions, but anything would help.
I have normal Range Rover Evoque 18" alloys with Pirelli tyres.

- Although the track will be slightly wider I doubt you'd feel any difference over body roll etc, in theory it should increase slightly.
2) have a noticeable larger turning circle compared to the normal.
- Should not affect steering angle assuming it doesnt hit anything
3) have any effect on the axle weight of the car?
- Minimal to none.
4) cause any interference in the wheel turning in the arch. I have mud flaps as well.
- depends how wide you go!
5) have any effect on the drivability off-road?
- not really, will slightly increase the potential loads through the Axle
6) be termed as a modification, and needs telling the insurance company?
- Yes
7) does it have a more profound effect of metal wear of the discs it is mounted next to.
- No, it may slightly stress the axle components more as you are moving the leverage point outwards
8 ) have an increased fuel consumption especially driving on the motorways?
- very probably cause you to use a little more fuel, but unlikely you'll notice against the use of your right foot.

Can I just add - spacers will increase the load on wheel bearings plus, no matter what mud flaps you have, be prepared for extra spray on wet motorways and constant mud-splatter over the front wings and doors as the tyres will extend past them.

What's putting me off is telling the insurance company of the modification! Thus denial of insurance cover or putting the price up from the insurers.

Also, would it make any difference on just having rear ones only. I understand you could buy them in a pair.
There wouldn't be any mud splatter over the front wheel arches and I won't have to worry about the front wheel turning within the well.

You would still be modifying the vehicle so you insurer would have to know.
