RE: Tuning box?

cutter7 - good to hear your comments. Do you think the mpg increase being reported is 'true' if the tuning box adjusts the fuel delivered post the ECU? Have you confirmed the figures 'at the pump' so to speak?

I dont think i would fit one on a brand new car, I would give it a couple of thousands miles to bed in first. Fitting one immediately might be asking for trouble

RE: Tuning box?

and it will invalidate any LR warranty that you have too, so ED's advice above might best be heeded for the first year at least!

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

It will if the dealer finds out about it, and are you 100% certain they wont be able to tell??

Its an expensive chance to take should your engine go pop.

RE: Tuning box?

If the engine goes pop, sets on fire and melts the box, which in turn bonds itself to the engine then I guess might know

RE: Tuning box?

Would like to hear if anyone has had any experience with a Chip Express tuning box?

I emailed them asking about the Evoque lag/flat spot and got a very prompt reply that made their product sound very impressive and promising. TDI Tuning still sounds safer though seeing as Cutter7 has trialled it and reporting good things, it's also more than 100 quid cheaper. TDI's response didn't instill as much confidence as Chip Express though, still sounded promising in a very generic way but Chip Express's reply was a more detailed response to my question and made their product sound more targeted to the lag issue.

May be just better customer service rather than better product though so if anyone has any experience with Chip Express please let us know.
