Would it be right to assume that these ones they are advertising for the TD4 and ED4 are just the same ones that they sell for the FL2? These rmanufacturers may be assuming that they are the same engine? That would make them a pretty risky proposition!

I agree it is logical to believe that the boxes available will be the same as the FL2 as the power outputs are similar, whilst I understand that the engines are basically the same I think the engine maps will be slightly different due to emissions and Dpf re generation.

I hope you get good results from the box, in my experience I agree the fuel computer figures get confused, the digital box I fitted on a common rail Mazda did improve the power, but it created some other problems re erratic idling and surging. I was really happy at first because the mpg went up from 41mpg to 50mpg with the same driving style, however when I checked the fuel consumption the traditional method the numbers were more like 40-41 mpg, still not bad but not as computer.

When I have had cars remapped via obd ports the computer fuel consumption read outs have always remained consistent with no strange improvements.

If it works for you using the box great, I am going to wait for the full remap either by the obd port or by removed of the ecu. It is worth it for the improved drivability you get.

Rolling road results are the best for convincing and believing true improvements.

Be interested how you get on measuring the fuel consumption the traditional way

Enjoy the power and let's hope you maintain the same mpg as before the boxVery Happy

RE: Tuning box?

Anyone seen a chip/remap for the Si4 yet?

I'm sure they'll be one soon but haven't found one yet, the Ford Focus ST @ 225bhp has a good 50bhp & 119 Nm from the Bluefin if I recall.
Given the engine in the Si4 is going to be the new Focus ST engine too, it'll no doubt attract a Bluefin product too ; should be good for 290-ish bhp then.

I've contacted Veizu tuning a few weeks ago and they are looking for a si4 for tuning if anyone is interested. I would do it but I live across the pond. Laughing I have Veizu tuning on my XKR. Only reason I went with them was because they gained 100HP with their tune + exhaust, hiflo cats and sc pulley (basically bolt on mods): http://www.viezu.com/blog/archives/tag/j...uar-tuning

They are located at: Aston Fields Ind Est, Bromsgrove, B60 3DN if anyone is interested.

RE: Tuning box?

From what i understand there won't be a bluefine type device for quite a while, due to the new ECU protection that Bosch have installed on the latest version of their ECUs, hence the need for a full remap, which involves getting the ECU out of the car.

This is why i started looking at tuning boxes as i am unable to find a good tuner locally. hopefully a hack will be available sooner rather than later, as i too would prefer a bluefin over a tuning box, though a decent tuning box will meet my needs for now.

Tuning box?

I'm hoping the guys Stateside would come up with the 'cheat device' soonest since Si4 is in abundance there. Something similar to COBB would be good...

Still bloody brilliant!. Thumbs Up

There is so much torque through the box, right up to 6.

You don't realise how quick this unit is until you join the Motorway with a clear outside lane.

I can hold my own against most things now...10/10 Very Happy

RE: Tuning box?

how are you finding fuel economy, also has it changed noise level of engine?

Economy.. does show a gain when driven between say, 50-70 (aprox 4 MPG)

The engine has not increased in any noise levels at all, since i installed this unit.
