Tow Bar fitting

Thinking about getting the quick release tow bar and 13 pin towing electric fitted by Statstone who quoted £880 incl fitting - is this standard across all dealers?

Yep, that sounds about right Loads of discussion on here re towbars. The JLR offering is very expensive, looks hideous and results in a massive bumper cut. I fitted my own, cost was a little over £300. There are full instructions on here.

I had one fitted professionally by a reputable company including electrics for £245, A detachable wouls be a bit more but still less than half of £800

Fitted by Stratstone??? Might get more than you bargain for with the words quick release!

our detatchable is being replaced tomorrow under warranty - already seized up - cannot get key into the lock, and has also come a little lose.

Thanks I mentioned this to the dealer and they dropped the price to £600 fitted for the quick release tow bar and 13 pin electrics.

Got to see the car as well which looked great, just a few weeks to go until I can collect it.

why do the towbars on the LR website say 'up to 2013 model year'? What changes after MY2013 prevent the fitting of a towbar do you think?

actually, on further inspection, it states a different part number for MY2013.....I wonder why?

"Quick Release Tow Bar - Up to 2013 Model Year - Part No: VPLVT0069 / 2013 Model Year Onwards - Part No: VPLVT0100"

Could LR have taken note of the numerous complaints on here about having to cut the rear valance and done a redesign for 2013MY cars?
