To Roof Rail...or not to Roof Rail...that is the question.

Valeter that pic of your roof rails has absolutely put me in two minds. I wasnt even considering it before but as much as I would've denied it before, to be honest I very much like the look of them.

I agree the Roof Rails make the RRE look more like an SUV; and dare I say it... less like a large Mini Cooper

Just made appointment to have them installed next week. Will post pics once it's done.

And considering I'm getting black wheels as well the pics will make my mind up for me.

I was considering having the black contrast roof but didn't for 2 reasons - 1 - I had the panoramic roof & LR still wanted £500 to colour it
Secondly I recon the black roof side would hide some of the effect from the black roof rails.

IMO 4x4's & Estate cars look unfinished without roof rails!

Had black roof rails installed today. Was worried that they would compromise the all important Evoque design. I was pleasantly surprised. I actually think they make the car look better. The roof is pretty flat and uninteresting, except, of course, for the dramatic rake. The rails add another detail that creates attitude and visual interest. And besides that, they add functionality. A definite improvement. Well worth the expense.

IMO black or silver roof racks spoil a Contrast Black roof. It makes the car taller and the roof rake less edgy. Horse for courses.

To have the roof box, you need roof rails and cross bars, how easy is it to add/remove the roof rails and cross bars... as I might just be considering the roof box for occasional use?

I have the roof rails and with the Thule roofbars I can have our roof box and two bike carriers fitted in less than 20minutes, it is literally that simple. They all just fit onto the roof.

You definitely can't remove the roof rails easily. Once installed, they are best left there. Not so the cross rails which can be removed at will.
