Those of you who own the adaptive drivetrain / intelligent 4wd

I have a 2014 which was the first year for the smart drivetrain where it will activate AWD at low speeds automatically and at a set speed will turn into FWD to save on fuel.

I love the idea.

But I have noticed I can OFTEN times hear the change occur when I am coming to a stop And on RARE occasions I can actually feel it in the vehicle. Does anyone else notice it? I often drive without music on so perhaps you have to have the radio off to hear it.

But it just doesn't sound luxurious and wonder if maybe it's just me? Or is this a common thing? Is there any fix for it? Maybe a rubber isolator under the car is going bad? If so where do I look for it?

For the record, I only have 21,923 miles on the vehicle and it is the 9-spd auto.

Never heard it on mine (also a 2014) but I almost always have the radio on. My understanding is that the vehicle is in FWD always unless traction requirements determine it needs power sent to other wheels.

There is a display in the menu system where you can see how the power is being distributed in live-view. Might help to track down if the sound you're hearing is actually coming from the traction system.

O yes. I am in that menu. And I see it ALWAYS engage AWD when I come to a stop. When I move past 20mph I go into FWD. Turn your radio off and let me know if you hear it please.
