vehicle to phone vs phone to vehicle bluetooth connection

Just bought a new iPhone to replace my previous older iPhone.

While i have connected this new iPhone, and once again and all functions as normal,but the only thing thats not working properly is the battery level shown on my Evoque's dashboard.
It shows battery level as full, when in reality the phone is below half full, yet the reception level indicator next door shows the correct and current level.

What can be wrong? Is there a difference wether you connect using "Vehicle to phone" vs phone to vehicle"?

Never had this issue with my previous iPhone 4S.

Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
