Then you use the large square which is left over wrap other parts - mirrors, grills, bumpers Cool

This is so there are as few joins in the wrap as possible thus reducing the number of places where corners may get lifted by airflow or pressure washing. I was quoted £240 for an Evoque roof wrap back in October

That's theory - if you look closely at the roof lines you'll see it can't be done in one piece as there are several rectangular pieces of the roof if you have pano so it can't be done in one piece.

Here is what I meant by the roof can't be wrapped in one piece... 6 pieces in fact...

I'm with you on this one. The gaps on the sides where they meet the front middle panel are too big to just wrap over.
Even if a company wanted to use one piece, the cost should only be around £10-20 more.
I ordered some gloss black a few weeks ago, costing only £7.34 1metre long cut off a 1.5metre wide roll.

Yep - the materials are very cheap but always a good idea to go with the bigger brands like 3M or HEXIS.

So the crowd I went to 2 weeks ago are talking a load of b*ll*cks then. I agree with you all that it appears not to be possible to do the roof in one piece, so why would they tell me it could - they have experience of wrapping 100's of cars, many with a panoramic roof and it was the MD I spoke to not the shop floor guys. It will be interesting to see one completed and see if they did a proper job with separate sheets for each panel or one complete one for the whole roof

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

Not necessarily, it depends on how they were thinking of wrapping it and if they had done an Evoque before. The roof on the RRE would need to be wrapped differently from a normal roof wrap as it comes down to the 'glass line' each side whereas a normal roof wrap only covers the area between the 'gutters' (see below).
