Spam / strange usernames / strange posts

I'm no internet expert, but have a question on a more serious note.

Are these links forum specific or could my computer be targeted as I would really want any of that stuff on my machine.

Loads of SPAM about this morning.

Can I have a forum without so much spam in it?

If you have found spam please click on the report button, that flags it for CJFP and I and makes it much easily to find. Martin has given the Mods a useful little tool that will not only delete spam in a thread it will delete all the other posts by the spammer and ban them................. when we read any post we have a button on every post
that allows us to get rid of any member's posts if we want, so just you lot behave!

Tim will do in future never even noticed the report tab until you just said about it.

I've just taken a look at the new members list - today and yesterday 3-4 pages of what look like computer generated user names that are just gobble-di-gook and all from China. Looks like some sort of bot is creating new members every 3-4 minutes for a couple of hours at a time

are the majority 'gmail' accounts?
chances are that you wouldn't then get a successful email activation. not sure what benefit this serves?

I think it leaves cookies in your computer if you open it? Is it worth deleting histories and cookies, I am not sure!
