Side Steps

Hi everyone,

Noticed on ebay last night that someone is already advertising side steps for the evoque. Now I know that it's not as high as the FFRR or RRS, but I quite like them.

Intrested to know other peoples thought??

RE: Side Steps

You cannot fit them to a Dynamic spec car!
Also Evoque is as easy to get into and out of as a Ford Focus, do people fit side steps to them?

RE: Side Steps

Generally on LR's they don't help prevent that as the OEM side steps don't stick out from the side of the car with the door closed except on a Defender, and if that is covered in mud that is usually deterrent enough to stop anybody parking too close! There are some Disco1/Disco2, Freelander1 and P38A side steps available that are like running boards.................... not sure that you would really want them on your Evoque would you? I assume what you are asking about are these http://www.dcc4x4sidebars.co.uk/categoryView.php?cID=6 or these http://www.dcc4x4sidebars.co.uk/categoryView.php?cID=5

RE: Side Steps

No there not at all like that. There very similar to the genuine L/R ones I have fitted to my RRS. My system at work will not allow me to send a link however, if you go to ebay, search for evoque sidesteps and a few pictures come up with them fitted to a white evoque. The seller is asking £349 for them.

RE: Side Steps

These? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Range-Rover-Ev...885wt_1346

They look like modified RRS/D4 steps that would normally be hidden like your current RRS's that are hidden when the door is closed, they would probably deter folks from opening doors onto your car but IMHO I don't think they look right.

Sorry Tim, work's system won't allow me to open up the link. I will have a look when I get home this evening. I can only assume that they are the ones I'm on about as there the only ones on ebay

RE: Side Steps

The seller is called t.twelve ltd price is £399+ carriage they look exactly the same as RRS and D4 side steps, as you say the only steps coming up in ebay for the Evoque

RE: Side Steps

They look very similar to the OEM LR side steps on my FL2 and yes they do protect the sides, thats the only reason I had them fitted. On the Evoque they look about as out of place as a roof rack on a F1 car IMHO!

Only way to protect the sides is with defensive parking i.e. look for a corner spot, don't park near people carriers, old bangers or anything with a child seat in.

Evoque Dynamic SD4 Lux Auto Total Rubbish, worst car I have owned - GONE AT LAST!
