Replaced Evoque due to paint issues...

Hi All,

Our car is the one mentioned in this thread http://babyrr.com/forum/Thread-Paint-issues we ended up rejecting the car on the suggestion of the paint specialist sent to look at the car by the dealer.

The dealer couldn't have been better, arranged a replacement (within 12 weeks) and the car has been changed at no cost to us, they let us keep the old one in the meantime. I was surprised to hear from the dealer that apart from getting the car quicker LandRover had offered no financial support to the change over. Bad form I thing from LR they build a poor quality car and their dealer has to rectify the problem!

Anyway the new cars paint is much better, the black highlights are now metallic, which is a great improvement, looks better and will be easier to maintain than the piano black. There's a few minor changes in the software as well, plus the mats are different, seem much better quality.

The dealer even paid for the car to be detailed.

I've attached pictures.

Thanks

RE: Replaced Evoque due to paint issues...

Glad to hear your new replacement car seems to be an improvement on the first.
I also rejected my car in January due to paint issues and my dealer agreed to order me a new one which I was told was built last week and I will pick it up this week! I am hoping that this one is perfect! I was also allowed to keep my car while waiting for the replacement which eased the pain slightly!

Pure 5dr SD4 Auto
Fuji, Ebony, Tech Pack, Pan Roof, Privacy Glass, Front Fogs, Park Assist, Rear Camera, Power-Fold Mirrors, Xenons & Spare Wheel
Got car 9th Dec 11
REJECTED car 9th Jan 12 - paint runs down doors & seals one side, obvious bad re-spray before delivery! Big Cry
New car arrived 31st March 12 Very Happy

I'm glad your problem has now been sorted to your satisfaction. Plus, you have been able to get used to the car at their expense, and now got the new registration, so all's well that ends well!Smile

I am also amazed. Are you saying that your dealer was left stuck with the 'lemon' which presumably they would have to take a massive knock on?

Our recently delivered Prestige had what I can only describe as crap mats (the thin felty 'salt & pepper' ones with a contrast border). Given that these didn't match the description 'premium' as shown in the brochure specification, nor were they the 'premium' mats illustrated as accessories in the same brochure, I insisted on them being replaced. I now have the accessory-style mats, which have the diagonal metal corners. The question arises - which ones did you get, i.e. what is now supplied as standard?

Yep, LR didn't help at all, the dealer is now left to deal with our car.

I'll post a picture of the mats shortly.

Ta

I don't know whether dealers are 'frightened' to make waves for fear of getting less favourable treatment in the future (such as car allocations) but you'd think, given that they bought the car from LR, legally they'd have the same rights as you excercised having bought it from them in turn.

(I'll be interested to see the photo of a mat, thanks! - attached is one of my old ones - I haven't photographed a new one, but they are as per the 2012 brochure picture, page 66, 'Premium carpet mat set')

The car looks great in the pic, very pleased that you got a good outcome. My replacement is due on Wednesday and should look like yours on the outside! My dealer is also left with my car and as far as I can tell LR only helped in getting the replacement more quickly. Dealer has been great though!!

One quick question, has the headlining changed to Cirrus from Ivory or did you spec the black?

On order: Volvo XC60 T5 Inscription Pro

Current: Porsche Macan, Pebble Interior, Volcano Grey, Bose, other extras which cost lots and should be standard

Gone:

Scirocco 2.0 GT DSG, Black, Black Lthr, 19" Luganos
TT Mk 2, Grey, Audi Exclusive Int
SLK Mk 2, Blk, Beige Lthr
