Rain-x for pano roof?

Was thinking of treating my pano roof with rain-x or similar to try and stop it getting so dirty. Anyone done the same? Any good?

Only the two front side windows.

Not sure how long rain-x lasts for, but there are much better glass sealants on the Market which will last for 2 years.

I have used Rain X on my side and rear screens but I have also used 'R222 Carnauba Wax' when waxing the car and it seems to be just as good.

I use GTechniq glass polish and nano sealant on my pano roof and it works a treat The beading is fantastic and as you drive off the water disappears. Also have it on the rest of the windows too

Hydrophobic glass, is self cleaning.

Drive fast enough and you can save money by not treating the glass with fancy treatments, the water won't stick!
Rain-X and any other "anti smearing" treatment is a waste of money on any glass with windscreen wipers moving across them - the wipers scrape it back off with the first wipe.

Hydrophobic Glass is a UK invention, IIRC only JLR use it as it was develeoped for them by either Warwick or Coventry University. There was an "episode" of one of the series of programs about things found in nature that we have been further developed to solve problems in industry on BBC2 in March all about it. It works on the rain repelling capablities of the wings of some giant butterfly only found in the Panamanian Jungle which would be unable to fly after a rain storm if it hadn't evolved this clever surface on it's wings..............

I allways thaught there was something on the front side windows but had no idea as to what it was.
Can this hydro stuff be put on the rest of the glass or is it added when the glass is made?
