Quite Pleased With My Holiday Fuel Economy.

Just got back from a holiday to Blue Anchor near Minehead, Somerset. Filled the Evoque literally to the brim when we left. The downward journey & 3 days of excursions notched up 442 miles & there was still 1/4 of a tank when we filled up again in Bridgewater then drove on to Wookey Hole caves & back to appartment (about 70 ish miles) then drove home to Kent up the A39 to Bath onto M4 & a detour to Lechlade to collect 200 Rover boxed pens, then via Ascot & onto home knocking up some 280 miles since filling up & the gauge was between 1/2 & 1/4 though nearer the half.

Fuel meter was reading 40.8 MPG for the trip which I didn't think was bad given that apart from some Motorway there & back most of the day trips were on the A39 down to Ilfracombe, Lynmouth via Porlock Hill & over the Moors etc then to Wookey etc & roads like that where you are constantly slowing or stopping or accelerating so basically the wrong type of driving for good fuel economy then gettin stuck at the Stonehenge bottleneck on the way down!
Total mileage was 724.8

Still a long way off the claimed 49mpg though.

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.
