LR uses dedicated car carriers rather than containerships so your car is more likely to travel to Aus via either the Suez Canal and Singapore or Baltimore and the Panama Canal, the risk of bad weather in the South Indian Ocean causing damage due to cars breaking loose in the heavy rolling that happens down there is too great for car carriers to venture that far south

Um.....worried look.

Mine is headed down the west coast of Africa, stopping at Durban and Fremantle before it is offloaded in Melbourne.

it is however in a car carrier and not a container ship.
Should I be worried?

No, I'm sure the ship's crew are having great fun running it flat out round the ship's car decks, cannot do that on a containership!! How did you find out which ship it was on and where the ship is located?

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

My friends Clio V6 never made it out of the docks in 1 piece! Was a complete write off, he had to wait for a replacement.

From the other very helpful Australians on this thread -
See "Shipping times and Tracking" thread in the Australian section
http://babyrr.com/forum/Thread-Shipping-...ng-of-ship

We found who the logistics company was. Used their track and trace section on their webpage using the cars VIN. Gives you the ship name.

Then keeping track of the ship using marinetraffic.com (great website, Ive got auto notifications set up - it emails you when the boat is in and out of range/ports)

Its great - gives me something to focus on for the long 6 week trip here. (and then another 2 weeks or so with customs!)

I hoping (like a few other Aussies did) to go see the boat come into port and see the car in the holding compound at the port.

RE: Putting some numbers on things

Slightly off topic, but related.
Not got my Vin yet and probably a long way off, but for when I do, how do you use Topix?
Did a search and found the site, but couldn't see anywhere to track the Vin. Confused
