Power Loss

2014 Evoque 2.2 SD4 Pure Tech 6 Speed Manual Diesel - 50k miles

Randomly seems to lose power for 2-3 seconds. Exceptionally intermittent. Can happen 2-3 times on a longish journey or may not happen for a week. It's happens at junctions when I'm trying to get going or if I change up in gear. Most frequent when pulling away.

Very dangerous and Ranger Rover have ran a diagnostic check and because no fault shows have ran out of ideas. Unless the computer tells them what to do they have not got a clue. Because it is so intermittent the fault does not happen during a test drive.

They must have seen this fault before and I have seen others with the same problem on various forums with no known cause.

This is my last attempt before I give up on Range Rover all together.

Any help would be appreciated.

RE: Power Loss

Have you tried a throttle reset?
Press the start button without your foot on the brake to turn just the ignition on.
Press the accelerator down to the floor and hold it there for about 15 seconds.
Press the start button again to turn off the ignition.
Take your foot off the accelerator
Wait a couple of minutes
Start up and drive it like you stole it!

I do that to mine every couple of months - more so if the wife’s been driving it like a snail - I think it learns her driving style!

Santorini SD4A Dynamic Lux with shadow chromes, ebony leather and privacy glass. Very Happy

RE: Power Loss

Thanks for the comment Steve.

I haven’t tried a throttle reset.

Is the throttle reset possible on a manual?

RE: Power Loss

I have had exactly the same problem. Had for a few years, dealers could find nothing. It stopped for a couple of years but has now returned. Have you managed to find any causes/solutions?
