RE: Nitrogen Inflation for Tyres

not had this done in my Evoque yet but did have my old BMW 645 done last time I was giving it its constant diet of new tyres, I expected nothing and always drive the same commute and noticed I got 1mpg better on nitrogen filled tyres.

maybe I sub-consciously made it happen by driving more carefully but wasn't aware of it. 12 miles more out of a tank of juice soon recouped the cost.

Is it really scientific enough to spend my money and change ..?!?!?

Come across it before but maybe I’m old skool, i don't mind regularly checking my pressures at a nominal garage - plus it means i can purchase a bottle of white and 20 finest Marlborough tabs..!

Keep in mind that air is 78% or so nitrogen anyway...

I think the remarks that air contains a high proportion of nitrogen anyway points to another scam to get a bit of extra cash out of the punters, £4 is not much on the cost of 4 new tyres, but £4 from each customer soon adds up to a tidy extra profit !! As nitrogen is so abundant a cylinder from BOC won,t cost much, years ago I wanted to respray a car and paying for 3 cylinders of nitrogen was cheaper than hiring a compressor !!

Ah, I'm not gonna get caught out by that - I'm just gonna swap out the 22% that isn't nitrogen!

Led leasing insist upon nitrogen fill up when you replace a tire, the reason being I understand that pressure is better maintained and thus the tire lasts longer.
