Just seen the tv advert.

Nice electric car, never need to buy petrol again ...........





...... but you do need to 'rent' the battery for £70 per month !!!

We've got 2 of them kicking around our area.
Yes the battery rental is a pain, but isn't there an option to also buy the battery? (an extra 5k on the price of the car or something like that)

In the recent cold weather I have at least 6 of them on flatbed trucks - I suspect that the battery doesn't hold it's charge so well in frosty weather.

Cant be a temperature thing because when I was in Norway for a while there were loads of them, think its more down to a miscalculation of the range
as its only about 90 miles between charges

I would like to hear the milage figures for winter driving: lights,heater wipers on.
In a normal car heating is more or less free of charge, but how about an electric car, and what I heard you can't get rid of them as second hand

In this week's Autoexpress in the Uk there is an item about a bloke who tried to part exchange his Renault Twizzy (OK so he chose autumn/winter which isn't the time of year to be selling a car with rudimentary doors and is electric) it was 6 months old and cost £7500 new................. initially he was offered £2500 for it in partex for a renault Zoe by the Renault dealer he bought it from until Renault stepped in and offered £3500.
Powering the lights on most electric or hybrids isn't a big issue as they mostly use LED lamps with a tiny electrical requirement

One of my sons lives in Norway, and we just got home from visiting him. There are 'Teslas' everywhere there now, and he tells me they have a 500 km range. They also get free parking at meters restricted for electric cars (I think you just use a swipe card or a code) and no car tax - not to mention that they have seven seats yet look like Maseratis!!

Nissan Leaf is a great electric car, electric cars rock and one day I will have one!!!
