RE: News from Japan

Where better to take the first few pics?!

Second day and it's all good. Love the ability to select English for the menus, leaving my brain to drive and not translate.

Love the gearbox, active dynamics and sport mode combo. Flicking through the gears is fairly intuitive, and the paddle shifters have been improved and illuminate at night. Aluminium they are not, but good enough for me. A little lag in full auto when pulling away after slowing for highway toll barriers, but perhaps that will smoothen out once the engine settles in.

Meridian sound system is great. Not sure if I've found my ideal seating position, but put it down to the 'command' driving position, when I've been used to legs straight out in my previous car.

Adaptive lighting is fab!

Panoramic roof? Great for passengers I guess, but does allow a lot of heat into the cabin when open. Still, does transform the cabin.

So score out of 10? 10!

The screen on the dash is my speed camera/police detector. Can just about see the illuminated + and - on the paddles.

Just got home after a quick trip out to Mt. Fuji. Where to next? Mmmmmm!!

Congratulations on the new arrival. Are you sure that is Fujisan in the background - looks just like Ben Lomond........ Wink

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

No midges yet here too! Too early for them although if it gets any warmer they will put in an appearance I'm sure.

Thanks all. It is indeed a fun ride.

Sometimes Mt. Fuji plays it shy and covers itself with clouds, but was lucky, and on a good day, I can even see it from my flat in Tokyo. The lake below is Ashino, and if you're ever in the area, the Toyo Tyres Turnpike won't disappoint! Saw a lot if fine hardware including a P1 I believe.

RE: News from Japan

Been a while, and just spent a wet weekend testing the 4WD, e-diff, dynamic and sports mode setting. Returned safely and with a large smile!!

Plus a preview party for the C-X17. Lovely door cards (and champagne), but the nose is a tad Volvo for me!
