Yes, it is just you. Based on what I have seen, it's a finely judged balance between retaining the FFRR traditional styling cues and moving them on.

Evoque was great, now in an RRS SVR

RE: New full fat?

I've just received my electronic version of Autocar magazine and there is a big spread about it in there. Interesting that the old side vents are now just a styling que on the front doors, I suspect the new FFRR has the same intake system as Evoque, under the bonnet edge on the wheelarch top

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

RE: New full fat?

LR Website has just been updated today with full details and a new microsite for the L405
http://allnewrangerover.landrover.com/gb/en

Looks beautiful in light colours, pity I cannot justify one but one thing I'll be happy to wager - it will get better MPG than the Evoque SD4!

RE: New full fat?

The new Range Rover IMO looks stunning, I like the direction LR are heading in design wise, sleek and modern but still unmistakably a Range Rover. I won't be able to buy one anytime soon though.

It looks lovely, launch date has a familiar ring to it.

I wouldn't mind it, but regrettably it is too big for my good lady.

Can't wait to see one for real though.

Has there been any indication of pricing yet? I'd heard talk of the new model being much closer to £100k than the outgoing one, as LR were concerned that the RR was considered to 'cheap' to have the same status as some of its competitors. I think the logic was that now the Evoque was here as an entry point RR, both the RRS and the RR could afford to move upmarket a bit to give them a bit more exclusivity.

I just hope that one day I'll be in a position to consider a RR too cheap!

RE: New full fat?

Prices rumoured in the press to start about £70k for a 3.0ltr TDv6 Vogue through to £120,000+ for the 7 seater all singing and dancing version. There are options for 4,5 and 7 seater versions too. The TDv6 should be a pretty good engine for it as that is the one powering RRS these days and that is 650kgs heavier than the new FFRR and while it isn't a rocketship the latest version of RRS has sufficient oomph for most folks. So in a car 600kgs less and slightly more aerodynamic it will go better I would imagine. For those looking to go Huntin' Shootin' and Fishin' and fishing in ultimate style the 4 seater LWB version should suit them to a T. Engines in the UK to be 3.0 TDv6, 4.4 TDv8 (that will be a real rocketship!) and 5.0V8 Supercharged. I believe also there will be a 5.0ltr V8 NA for some markets too - all are the JLR engines from the outgoing car and RRS ungraded for the new model. I also read that the TR is now a "smart" TR - it is fully automatic and selects the right settings for the conditions................ should be fun when it goes wrong!
