New Member - what to buy?

Hi everyone. I'm a regular on the FFRR forum as I own a 2011MY Vogue 4.4TDV8 which is my second RR after having a 4.2SC. I am now a Range Rover convert and can't imagine driving anything else and now my better half who likes to drive mine, really wants a Evoque to replace her 325i convertible. The question is...whats the best Evoque to buy?

As we have an 8 year old, a 5 door is needed as he is independent enough to get in and out without waiting for mum to open the door. She does the local school run and most of her driving is in the city and only covers 5,000 miles a year. A couple of years ago her BMW was stranded in the snow and ice for a week, so she doesn't want to ever get stuck again. Should she look for an ex demo or buy new and wait 6 months for a factory build?

Any advice with drive type, engine size and options would be appreciated.

At 5k a year - a petrol Si4 would be the way to go. There are loads of threads on car configs here - a pano roof, Xenons & fogs (standard on Dynamic & Prestige) and a spare wheel are the absolute must haves.

Hope you make up your mind as each of us have different tastes...

5000miles of town driving a year, go Si4 Auto.

If you're not fussed on the Nav, Xenons, fogs, signature lights, consider Pure, and just look at what upgrades suit you.
(if for school run Pure sounds a good chioce, then add a few toys.)

If you want the above and softer leather then consider Prestige.
If you want a sportier look/ride and above the consider Dynamic.

Add electric tailgate, Pano roof, and then any fancy bits like auto dimming/adaptive headlights.

Choose your colours inside and out, constrast roof, wheels and you're done!

Sit back and wait... and join in the forum.

Everybody chooses different spec cars , but the good thing is there is lots of choice.

I went for a SD4 pure but I do 30,000 miles a year & need hard wearing interior as the car is a work horse for me if I did less miles I may have chosen differently.

Whether it's ed4 or si4 one thing you can be sure of , no choice is wrong . They are all at the top , they are all good

Thanks for the replies. It looks like the configurator is a good place to start which should keep us entertained for a few days of deliberation and arguments

I really think the Diesel suits the car really well especially in auto format. I think the torque it provides and the auto makes it quite seamless and a great match, guess that depends on your other half though.

I have a 5 door Prestige with pan roof, privacy glass and spare wheel which i feel is a very safe option and with this being my first venture into this segment I’m quite enjoying it thus far.

Don't forget that Si4 is also only available in the UK as an automatic and in Dynamic spec

The configurator is great - I spent hours on there just looking at all the options. Drove my husband mad!!!!

So have you made a decision on what spec you're going to go for then?
