Mini

Noticed a few people here have or have had a Mini and just wondered what they'd thought of them etc etc. I realise that there are Mini forums but nice to get an opinion from you guys I sort of know

Am looking for a new small car to do the school run and will have alongside the Evoque. My first car was a brand new Mini in 1990 and always said I'd get another although will never compare of course!

We had (well the wife really) a Cooper S for a couple of years before we bought the TT. Thought it was a great car, fast, handled like a dream and never had any problems (other than the usual false alarms on the tyre sensors). The boot is small of course, but not a huge problem, especially if it's going to be your second car.
A long time ago we also had a couple of the original 'proper' Mini's, as different as chalk and cheese obviously, the new one is probably twice the size (except for the boot) and of course the build quality and design is in another league - no need to dry the distributor cap/leads out in the oven everytime it rains!

Had a Cooper S convertible. Loved it- was a very playful little thing. Highly recommend them. nearly bought one recently but went for a 911 only because Id never had one.

Rather have a 911, not so good for the school run, have to wait for the 'me' car

Had a MINI One when they first came out in 2002. Loved it. Both my sons have Cooper S's at present and they love them. Ideal for the school run, especially as you'll have a Range Rover as well. We had a FullFat RR alongside MINI and they were everything we needed at the time.
